We are the nation of numbers; real numbers, whole numbers, numbers for you and numbers for me. We measure ourselves by numbers, checking to see if we comply to a certain average or make a certain threshold. Even at Church we judge ourselves by the number of people that come every week (true, numbers equals lives we can make a difference in). Our education measures our ability in numbers. I suppose we need to quantify everything so that we can compare things on the same base.
I even measure the success of this blog on the number of people that visit everyday and the number of comments that get made. I find myself looking out for that next milestone – 10,000 hits, 100,000 hits …
It’s a trap, I am sure, because it makes us insane. We get so caught up in quantifying everything that quality does not matter. Where am I going with this? I do not know. I was just thinking about it when I was looking at my blog stats.

John on http://stufffchristianslike.blogspot.com/ said something about this the other day and compared our blog hits to an idol that we base out contentedness and self-worth on. i.e. I feel content when I get x hits a day. rather than feeling content because Jesus Loves us and has done an amazing thing for us.
But you know, last night, going though all the testimonies and baptisms, I think that it is pretty cool that we have so many. Just to quantify all that Life Change lets you know that God is working at our Church.
Wow! Thank you very much!
I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my site?
Of course, I will add backlink?
Sincerely, Reader
