I’ll think twice now before going to do work at church at night. Now’s the chance to practice what we preach though- Hope: believing that something good can come from something bad. Watch this space!

A pity it’s such flashy stuff. We have a saying in our (urban) Church: “If it CAN be stolen it WILL be stolen.” This has included the Church carpets, the cross on the altar, the Church amp (a few times — now bolted in place), attempted theft of the stained glass, the garden plants, copper pipes, antique shutters, Youth equipment, Bibles, food prepared for functions, communion glasses … and that’s just the start. This used to trouble me. I’m past all that!

P.S. I see you have a tab at the top of your blog: “The Stuff I Use”. Should this not be, more accurately: “The Stuff I USED To Use”?! ;-)

Oh man, I feel your pain. I used to work at a church as the Media Director and had thousands of dollars of equipment stolen out from under us. It’s a shame.

I’ll be praying your stuff shows up.

    Next chapter…

4 guys returned last night [1st April 2009 11:20pm] and were loading stuff from the church into a combi
the didn’t know that the alarm had been fixed though and so THEY WERE CAUGHT!!

The alarm had been shorted in such a way that it looked fine to anyone taking a quick glance at it.. and they didn’t know that we knew!

Hope we can get hold of any of the stuff from the first break in

Pray for a miracle please! Won’t that be an amazing answer to prayer is it all gets found!

    Update

Unfortunately there was no sign of the equipment from the original theft when the thieves house was searched.
    Quite a nuisance really.
Pray that the thieves become very helpful in locating the goods or that they can be found thru what ever means.

For example the MacBook’s serial nr in the post above can certainly be traced.
