So you feel broody?
First I have to apologize for not being there for my wife, sorry Kathy.
But while I was away filming, Kathy had this experience with our 17 month old that was beyond anything I could have imagined. A picture can’t describe it and it should not, it just would not be right. Kathy posted this on Facebook in response to a comment that one of our friends was feeling broody.
I thought I should share my evening with you – just in case you thought being parents was all romantic and wonderful! Phill is out filming, so I get to bath Stephen on my own – we usually do it together – one bathing, the other getting clothes etc. I run the water, and soap him as usual before he gets in. He is in the water for less than 45 seconds when he has a wonderful bowel movement. Excuse the graphics, but it’s not one you can catch and throw, it’s runnier than that, so I grab him out the bath. I then try to hold onto him with one hand- because he’s wet and freshly soaped and therefore due to break his neck on the tiles. While waiting for the water to run out, he has another movement. He then becomes fascinated with what’s he’s done and while leaning in to explore, drops the full 250ml bottle of water on the floor that he was playing with in the bath. So there I am, on my own, trying to catch and wipe and clean and dodge. Just before I notice the third squirt.
And all the while I am trying to keep a sense of humour, all I can think is that people all over the world are dressing up and getting ready to go out and party the night away.
Sigh I think maybe I’ll call it a night and go to bed!
One day!
Kathy
A friend a fellow blogger had a question concerning kids – maybe he is broody, he he he: So, what do you think about have children? Is our plan (in your opinion) a good or bad one? Why?
