My Bucket List

May 5, 2010 — 19 Comments

There are many things I would like to do in my life; many of which sit in the back of my mind and whisper to me every day, some are just cool. Some have a story that started way back and lie unresolved like your forgotten teddy bear stuffed into a hidden box.
If I was standing (ok, probably sitting) near the end of my life, these are the things I would like to be able to look back upon and fondly remember doing.
Ok, granted, at that stage of my life people will be more important that things obtained or things done. However, at this stage of my life, here are the things I would like to tick off my Bucket List :

  1. Make a Full Feature Film
  2. Take a ride in a Fighter Jet
  3. Climb a Mountain
  4. Pay off all my Debt
  5. Write a Novel
  6. Take the Family to Disney Land
  7. Go on a Cruise Ship with the family in some far away waters
  8. Start a Fund Raising Campaign for people less privileged, that people actually contribute to.
  9. Finish the Wheel of Time :P
  10. Meet with all my old friends from Durban Christian Center (from about 15 years ago) and say thank you for believing in me, and investing time in me.

  1. Nice little list.

I recall going to a website once called something like “50 things to do before I die”. Basic idea is you sign up and they give you the default bucket list.

Trouble is, of the 50 things on it I’d done all but one already!

What’s the wheel of time BTW?

Wheel of Time is a Fantasy Series, unfortunately the Author; Robert Jordan, died before he finished. I have been struggling to finish book 9 for a while – there will be 14 when the final two books are written.

  5. Ok, I’m not so sure about no2 and no9, but otherwise… when do we get started!? I’m sure we’ll be able to tick those off pretty easily. I’ll have to write one up as well- a good idea!

  6. That’s a great list! I’m thinking I need to make a bucket list myself. Mine would include some of the same items as yours (specifically #s 4, 5, and 6). I’m going to start thinking about this. You may see a bucket list on my blog before too long. Thanks for the idea!

  8. We are a group of volunteers and starting a new initiative in a community. Your blog provided us important information to function on. You’ve done a marvellous job!

  9. Definitely concur with what you stated. Your explanation was certainly the easiest to understand. I tell you, I usually get irked when folks discuss issues that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to strike the nail correct on the head and explained out everything without complication. Maybe, people can take a signal. Will most likely be back to get more. Thanks

  10. Thank you so much for your outlook, I totally agree with you. It is great to see a fresh outlook on this and I appear forward to more.
