Hurry the Phenomenon

It has been two years since Apple released Shake 4.1 at a $2500 price drop but with no planned updates. Although that was a windfall for me since I was actually planning on buying it, I have been on the edge of my seat since I was blessed with a copy – waiting for this next generation software. And there have been rumours from the word go. Ok the the thought was for a possible 2008 release, hmmm it is now July 2008 and not a peep – either Apple is keep military grade secret on this or we are all waiting for nothing. I for one hope for the former because I enjoy Shake and would rather see it evolving further as a professional collection of compositing tools rather than a consumer grade collection of general preset filters for button pushers.

I really have only come into my own as a Shake user in the last year, but I am getting a bit tired of AE sucking up the market share and credits when I still believe that Shake’s node based approach is just so natural. At the moment I can quite literally breeze through a set of Rotoscopes, colour and keying nodes to name but a few, and achieve a very pleasing result in minutes.
So I reckon that it is high time to blow our socks away and release Phenomenon.

yeah!!!
