The last week has been hectic. And um the week before. Maybe I need to take a break and make some time for the family. Hmmm how does one make time? Anyway I am taking this opportunity to write this out while I wait for a render to complete, for Kathy to get back from the craft shop and/or Stephen to wake. Stephen got a bit too excited this morning and getting him to take a nap was a bit dramatic. I don’t think I help very much in calming him down since I tend to be the reason why he get exited in the first place; what is a father to do with his joyful blue-eyed wonder of a 9 month year old (apart from getting him to say DADA – he said MAMA first; darn I lost the race)
Anyway back to the work at hand. I have found the 720p footage from the Sony EX1 camera not much easier than the 720×576 DV footage I took with the DVX100BE. In some cases; the full body shots, I had to use 3 different keying techniques to key different regions to obtain a decent key. In other cases I could quite literally point an click. The close the shot the easier I found the key.
Now I have keyed all I need and composited it all together, got some colour correcting – hmm highlights on the face from the back light and kicker have caused clipping – something I must watch out for next time.
Next I will get the sound levels correct and add some background music and then I am ready to export, yayy.

Very extraordinary online pal, I will bookmark and return when I have a tiny surprisingly time.
