From producers to distributers to resellers, heres a small selection and a few thoughts (and yours are most welcome, so add away):
Cloud Ten Pictures
“Cloud Ten Pictures is a Christian-themed movie company<”
They have a great presence on Twitter and facebook with awesome titles that they have taken up; The River Within, Saving God, and the Left Behind series to name but a few.
Christian-Movie.com
Promoting Christ through the Film Industry – very cool. There are even Short film competitions, newsletters and resources. A brilliant place to start as a Christian Filmmaker. Get in touch with them on FaceBook and Twitter.
Sherwood Pictures
The Makers of FlyWheel, Facing the Giants and FireProof. They have another movie that looks very good: Courageous Honor begins at home. I thought that there was going to be a FireProof 2.
Christian Movies
A well put together site with a huge variety of movies – they also have a facebook and twitter presence.
Christian Cinema
Another reseller to choose from. They have a few interesting blog articles, if a bit sporadic.
Christian Film Database
“An Online List of Christian Movies/Films!”
Not exactly IMDB, but a step in the right direction.
Christian Filmmaker
The great thing about google and search is great discoveries. In my looking about for all things Christian and FilmMaking I found this today – very cool. The most recent Story I see: 2010 Christian Filmmakers Camp that is just about the most awesome thing I have seen today. Pity that I won’t be able to go, but if you can – tell us all about it
The site look really useful, with good articles, links and networking opportunities.
Think I’ll read their article on producing a music video and see what I can do – he he he
Movies produced by Christians that promote or embody their religions. 1980-Present Total Grosses
Nice to see Fireproof up there in the top 5, pity it (as most Christian Film) is so far behind in profits. Just look at the difference between the major productions of Passion of the Christ and the Naria series compared to everything below it. The table is an extract from the boxofficemojo Christian genre chart:
| Rank | Title (click to view) | Studio | Lifetime Gross /Theaters | Opening /Theaters | Date | ||
| 1 | The Passion of the Christ | NM | $370,782,930 | 3,408 | $83,848,082 | 3,043 | 2/25/04 |
| 2 | The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe | BV | $291,710,957 | 3,853 | $65,556,312 | 3,616 | 12/9/05 |
| 3 | The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian | BV | $141,621,490 | 3,929 | $55,034,805 | 3,929 | 5/16/08 |
| 4 | The Nativity Story | NL | $37,629,831 | 3,083 | $7,849,304 | 3,083 | 12/1/06 |
| 5 | Fireproof | Gold. | $33,456,317 | 905 | $6,836,036 | 839 | 9/26/08 |

commenter #666? kinda sounds a bit creepy…oh well here it goes.
he he he
and yay, I made it past 666.
Next goal 777 – then I'll buy a lotto ticket – lol
Thanks for the resources. Sure is a good time to be getting into Christian Filmmaking. When we set out to make our film, we had no idea about all of this. Only since have I found sites like these.
My recent post I miss Project Greenlight!
I am certainly looking forward to your next venture
