The 8Bit Experiment has begun.
The 8BIT Network’s Mission is to resource the Church with timely, relevant, practical, and exceptionally valuable content. Our properties receive tens of thousands of pageviews a day and are widely regarded as online epicenters within their respective fields of coverage
Committing to one year of blogging; success or fail (but of course it will be successful), the members of 8Bit will provide posts relating to the following spheres (spheres for want of a better name):
- Web: ChurchCrunch
- Media: ChurchCreate
- Tech: ChurchIT
- Mobile: ChurchDrop
For me and the strategy of this blog I have registered to contribute at ChurchCreate – Media; specifically in the area of Video (how it pertains to the Church, usage, leveraging Video and tutorials on relevant tools).
Here is the ChurchCreate break down:
- Art and Design : Creativity Unbound
- Community: Me, You, We
- Production: A Fine Art
- Video and Audio: Engineering Awesome
I feel that this is an EPIC WIN because it leverages an already integrated community and allows them to offer their own skills and knowledge to empower and help the greater Church community. I have tried to champion this with building a Christian Video and Filmmaking Tribe but I am small fry in regards to my reputation and reach; ChurchCrunch and it’s community is not.
Will you come and join us?

I too am looking forward to see what comes of the 8Bit Network. Building on the good history with ChurchCrunch, and branching out in to some specialty blogs bodes well.

It will be interesting to see if John can replicate the quality content & community he's created on ChurchCrunch on the new bogs. Are you planning to be a regular guest blogger on ChurchCreate?
My recent post Wednesday Website Weview: Christian Web Trends
I do believe that he can replicate, but this time the ball is in the court of the contributors. And with the intensive of earning money from posts maybe more people will be keen to post more regularly, especially those in the more specialized fields.
I want to contribute with more regularity than before – which is easier now since ChurchCreate is closer to where my interests and passions lie.

Cool! Any thoughts on how you'll decide whether an article you write gets posted here vs ChurchCreate? I'm always curious about dilemmas like that.

That is a tough one. Sometimes I would like to post something here because I have not had anything really good to post in a while, but ChurchCreate has a greater and more interactive audience. A sacrifice to rather post there may result in some return readership and comments back here.
hmmm.
Otherwise I stick to filmmaking posts here and on strategic occasion reserve my video for church posts at ChurchCreate.
