Digital Cinema Society Educational Event

If you don’t know Steve Wright and you are interested in vfx then I suggest flapping your arms about wildly ;-) but you probably do. Most likely – if you actually do vfx – then you know about his newsletter, if you don’t then subscribe (arm flapping is optional in this case).

Two things are interesting in the current newsletter:

  1. The podcast at Creative cow on the Digital Intermediate (DI) process, subscribe here. Episodes 50 and 56:
    • Episode 50: “CGI The Early Years with Steve Wright, Robert Abel and Associates, Kodak Cinesite, Learning Nuke, Media 100 13 ships, Adobe CS4 downloads, Flash Converter, Browsershots and more creative news and interviews – creativecow.net”
    • Episode 56: “Digital Intermediates with Steve Wright, Windows XP gets 4 more months, JVC at MacWorld, Sony at CES, Intel 160GB SSD shipping, new Matrox CS4 support and more creative news and interviews – creativecow.net”
  2. Steve’s presentation In Part 2 of the Digital Cinema Society Educational Event’s Blue and Greenscreen Compositing coverage. The rest of the event is definitely worth a watch.
