Blogging Goals 2010 : Month One Progress Report

goal

Well it has been one and a half months since self hosting over at OurChurch. Very cool :)

  • Self Host – Done, thank you Paul Steinbrueck and OurChurch.
  • Non Template Theme – thank you human3rror
  • 200 Subscribers – bouncing between 388 and 351. Thanks if you have subscribed,  if you have not I encourage you to. Maybe I need to readjust my goal to 500.
  • 1000 comments – Very close to this, that is why I posted the competition post: Competition: 1000th Comment – Stuff Christians Like Book. So get cracking with those comments :) Actually I removed a number of trackbacks and spam comments that found there way in some time back, so I have fallen back somewhat. Please help me make up that ground.
  • Community - Tough one to measure. I am not really seeing this on my blog other than connecting with a few cool people through the comments. Pretty much all the community is happening in Twitter and facebook. However I have signed up to postrank to measure this through their engagement points and also with ubervu for reations, both look very hot.

How are you doing with your goals? Got any tools/plans in place to achieve them?

  1. I have 2 main goals. Write regularly (5-7 days a week) and grow my readership with quality of writing (even with an increased quantity). I have been writing consistently, and only two couple days the past couple weeks. However, I moved my site from sammahlstadt.wordpress.com and am now self-hosted at sammahlstadt.com – and when I did that, I lost my stats! WordPress Stats isn't working for some reason. I set up google analytics, so we will see on the stat goal. Thanks for sharing yours.

  2. Good goals…your blog is still very, very young but you are on an incredible start. How did you get so many RSS subscribers so quickly?

Either way keep it up with all the good work!

  3. I hope that your involvement in HighCallingBlogs draws some visitors and develops meaningful community as people in the network discover your new posts in the reader and find in you a like-minded blogger who also cares and writes about the intersection of work and faith.

  4. Yeah, I used to have blog goals. Now I just blog. :) Three years and counting, that seems good 'nuff.

Came over 'cuz I saw Ann's comment btw. Are you new at HCB? If so, welcome. (Okay, or welcome anyway :)
