We all stayed in the most amazing place that overlooked the beach. Ok it was a lot of stairs to get down to the sand, but at least I burnt off some of those extra kilojoules that seems to accumulate over Christmas ![]()

The View from the Penthouse
It was not overly hot or humid, which was perfect. The water was great – not freezing cold like Cape Town (sorry) but I had to get little Stephen out twice because he was getting cold. Oh and did he enjoy himself lol ![]()

Starting the Sand Castle
The one night there was a huge storm; blowing roof tiles off, breaking windows in other complexes and forcing water thru the doors.

The pleasure of shutter control
My boet and I must had tried 100 times to get the handful of lightning pictures before we were forced indoors by the driving rain. It was a lot of luck and patience with the shutter open for 15 seconds with F8.0 and ISO80 or ISO100.
We certainly got together as a family in what was an unprecedented Gibb gathering on Christmas eve.

The Gathering

Amazing photo of the lightening! Well worth the effort to get it!
