This site does not generate a much traffic as it has the potential but visitors do click on the advertising elements in my sidebar. Considering that my efforts towards more awareness and community are generating results (in terms of visits, comments and outgoing links), I am considering the idea of paid advertising.
Why
It would be great for this blog to pay for itself; for hosting(free at the mo), backups, it’s own advertising, and in the use of more professional tools/plugins. But more than that – a group of us are working towards making a movie; at first we are taking baby steps – and each step requires time effort and money. So basically the money would go in the direction of:
- Managing this blog
- Computer equipment (I seriously need a Mac Pro)
- Camera Equipment (whether to hire of to buy)
- Competitions for the community that frequents Synaptic Light
How
The way I see that playing out is still something that I still need to dwell on.
The focus will be Filmmaking tools, Video media content and tools, and how both of these are made available to the Church. For example:
- Camera equipment
- Computer equipment for editing and capture
- Management of video media
- Consultation
- Hiring of equipment
- Human resources for film and media management
The benefit of advertising here would be the extended reach that you would have to the group of independent filmmakers that I keep in contact with though my blogging, facebook and twitter. These Social networks and others give me a potential reach of over 1500 that an advertiser could tap into.
