Darren Rowse has started a great series called 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge that has started today with a good post on establishing focus: Writing an Elevator Pitch for Your Blog.
The series is comprised of both theory and practical tasks, but I do not need to repeat what Darren has already said in the link above. Suffice to say that this first day has already challenged me to find some focus in what I write about in my blogging.
The intent of my blog was always supposed to be about my interest in video, how I use that for God and all the aspects related to that. However over time this has jumped back and forth to general topics, blogging in general and personal matters. Don’t get me wrong, there aint anything wrong in breaking the rule, in fact the old adage will always be true with me – ‘the exception proves the rule’.
All that this means is that I will be separating my blogging into different areas (subject to major change);
- Leverage Video for Church and building a relationship with those in the industry for God’s Glory
- My journey as a father to my son and all the lessons I learn concerning that
- Life and blogging in general – the scratch pad so to speak
The next 30 days will be about building this current blog into a better blog with all the lessons I learn carried over to the other more personal blogs as they evolve.

I thought the purpose of blogging was to export your thoughts unorganized to a scanning addicted world. That way they can pick up key phrases without any need for context.
ha ha ha ha, that too, that too.
but I plan to be intentional and strategic; now more than ever,
because the type of people I want to associate with on the web thru this blog are better then me.
And I learn better from those people – not only, just better.
